Auckland Amateur Athletic Club.

The third annual meetiog of the above Club was held at the Imperial Hotel at 8 o'clock last evening. About twenty-five members attended, and Mr B. J. Esam was voted to ■• tho chair. Mr H. H. Hayr, Hon. Secretary, j read the report of the Committee for tie; t-oason of ISSo-O, which congratulated the: Club oj the state of its finances-£1207a standing to its credit. Mr J. M. Hibbin, Hon. Treasurer, then read the balance eheet: for the last season, and the balance-sheets: '

for tho April and January meetings, thel former showing that the receipts amounted to £157 7s 3d, the expenditure to £133 11b 3!, and the latter that the expenditure was £00 6s lid against £108 4a received; the two meetings thus showing a credit balance of £41 18s Id. Tho report and balancesheets having been unanimously adopted, / and there boing no correspondence to read, tho Chairman put the following resolutions proposed by Mr A. H Cotter and seconded by Mr C. 11. Chapman :—" That Role No. 7 bo altered, and that three f vice-presidents be appointed." Carried. Proposed by Mr H. 11, Hayr, and seconded" by Mr J. M. Sibbin, " That each member' shall register hia colours with the secretary, '" such colours to bo his property during membership. In the case of two membersregistering the same colours the older y member to have tho priority of choice. One shilling registering fee to be charged."^ Carried. Proposed by Mr J. M. Sibbio, and seconded by Mr A. H, Cotter, " That Rule 11, reforring to amateurs, Be,; altered, the figure 1 being inserted atter the word November." The Hon. Secretary read a letter, just received, from^ Professor Carrollo offering to give a prize for competition,which was referred to the Coin-, mitteo. The officers for the ensuing yearwere then proposed and elected aa fellows: President, Mr W. R. Waddel; VicePresidents, Messrs T. HendersoD, R.> Garrett, and L. Coupland ; Treasurer, Mr J. M. Sibbin (re-elected); Secretary, Mr U. H Hayr (re-clec'ed) : Committee, Messrs A. H. Cotter, H. H. Davy, G. A.,. Orchard, B. J. Esam, J. A. Cooper, J. Halyday, W. Gardiner, C. R. Chapman, R.. B. Lusk, T. G. Sibbic. The Hon. Secretary' placed before tho Club a proposal made by tho Agricultural Pastoral Society for theClub to take over the management of the' sports to bo held in connection with the' annual Agricultural Show in November. It was determined to aocept the offer. It waa proposed by Mr Stuart, and seconded1 by MrOrchard, "Ihat the Committee bein- v ; structed to tako into consideration the' matter of having a Championship Race at each meeting." Mr H. H. Hayr, the Hon. Sec, spoke, to the effect that the late Committee had proposed the forming of a company to purchase oho Tramway Company's paddock at Newmarket for the purpose oi making a suitable sports ground ; jt.-WMj-proposed to issue £1 shares, 10a to be called up at once, and the remainder, at intervals. It was proposed by the Chairman,andeecooded by Mr Cotter,"That ten guineas out of the funds of the Clubbe, spent in purchasing their able and obliging Hon. Secretary, MrH. H.
