Union Sash and Door Company Accident Relief Society.

Tub very successful Accident lielief Society which has been now in existence for ten years in connection with tho works o£ the above Company, held their yearly meeting at the factory Mechanics' Buy. on Thursday. Mr Horsely! factory foreman, in tho chair. The minutes of former meeting were read mid confirmed. 'Die Secretary (Mr tituarl) submitted the annual statement of accounts, which showed the amount received during the year to have been £75 6s Id, and the expenditure (including a reserve of £S I2s 7d to be carried to next year) £33 2s lOd ; this left a balance ot £12 3s 6d for distribution, which, according to the rules, is equally divided among the incmbors. The report was unanimously adopted. The Chairman, in tho course «C a few remarks, congratulated the Society on the good work that had been done during the year, and ulso on the very satisfac tory report that had just been read. He had no idea tnac their Treasurer (Mr Tickers) would have such a large balance available for distribution, aud was rather surprised, considering the many calls that had been made upon the Fund to find Uittt each member had £1 Os (id of his subscriptions returned. The Chairman also stated, for the information ef new hands and others, that Uic Society, for tho small weekly payment of (id, pays to any member disabled by accident the sum of £1 per week, and if no accidents happened nearly the whole of the subscriptions were refunded at the end of the year, so that really there was nothing to lose by becoming a subscriber to the fund. The Chairman, ill conclusion, said they were now entering on their eleventh year, and he wished them every success. The meeting elected a new Cnimiltee for the ensuing year, and after hearty votes of thanks to the outgoing Committee and the Chairman, the meeting terminated
