Successful Negotiations,
Mr. W, .1. BtJTLKK, Native Land Purchase Commissioner, arrived hero on Tuesday evening from Taupo, whero ho has beon furthering tho purchase of Wuimarino Block. Thin contains 450.000 acres, and is owned by 1,014 natives. So successful has Mr Butler beon, that alreaJy over 750 signatures uf natives willing to sidll have been secured, and the Commissioner hopes to compli te the purchase early next summer. Mr Stevens, formerly M.H.It, for tiangitikei, who has been associated with Mr Uutlor in these operations, is at prcfe»t at Wanganui, and ia mooting with a fair measure of pucco-s. The Waimarino block, wo may mention, has a frontage of JO miha to tho trunk railway lino.
