At the annual meeting of T. and S. Morrin and Co. (Limited), a sum of £4,200, profit balance, was carried ferward to next A mooting of tho Dunodin shareholders of the South British Insurance Company was held on 17th August, a Christohurch resident and shareholder being in the chair. Tho following resolution was carried:—That adolegato beappointod to proceed to Auckland to confer with tho directors as to tbe present unsatisfactory state «f the Company's business, and to lay before thorn theshareholders'views ; (2)that it be a recommendation to the directors to olose all business in England both fire and -marine, except such as is connected with Australia; (3) that the same course be adopted with the eastern trade f (4) that no new agencies be opened in foreign countries ; (5) that competent inspectors be appointed with the view of having all risks estimated and supervised; (6) thnt no further issue of shares bo mado ; (7) that the delegate obtain full information as to how the capital reserve funds are invested.
