Lahoknv. — William Paton was charged with the larcouy of six pairs of socks, value 6s, the property of George Carter.—Accusod, a youth, pleaded guilty, and wassonto seven days' imprisonment. Alleged Attempted SniciPE. — Archibald Smith wufi charged with unlawfully wounding himself with a knife with intent to feloniously kill and murder himself.— Sergeant Prait asked for a remand in order to secure tho attendance of witnesses, and the ca3o was accordingly adjourned till Monday.
Maintenance. —Charges of failing to provide for the support of children were dealt with as follows :—Emma Scott was ordered to pay 2s Cd per week. Thomaa Reed did not appear, but his wife wa3 present, and said he had gone to Woodhill to work, and had no means.—Adjourned for a fortnight. In the charge against John Kingham, an adjournment Jfor a week was granted, on the application of Mr Napier, who said there was a prospect of an amicable settlement being arrived at.
