Excitement in the Islands.
Melbourne this day, Fohtiikk advices from MrMacdonald, New Hebrides missionary, leport that a French company is fencing through land belonging to the Prosbytorian mission, and of which the Synod trustees' title is perfect. The French commandant has claimed compensation, and has threatened to burn the houses on the mission land on the most hollow protext. Mr Macdonald has appealed to Admiral Tryon to take measures for protection of tho mission. A deep feeling has boon excited in tho islands by the action of tho French commandant, which will probably lead to disastrous results.
