Beach's Performances.

(To the Editor)

Sir,—ln your notice of Bench's performances in last Friday night's Star you say that Laycock won tbe 1 unoh Trophy. He did not. The rnce resulted as follows :-l, M. Ruh; 2, W Bench; 3, B. O. Layoock: i, E. Triokoit. think it only fair that Kush—as honest an oarsman as ever sat In a boat-should get credit for his vlotory. I may add that whon the Pur eh Trophy Slakes were handed to Rush, he pointed to Beach, who was in the room, and said that ho was the coming man. Many people laughed at Kush for siylng so. Kvonta have proved him right.—Yours, &0., Wm; GiiisoN.
