COROMANDEL.
[From Our O\ra Correspondent.]
Coromanded, this day,
Tokatea.—Tho manager reports:—There has been no fresh discovery mado by the contractors at No. 3 level this week. The ground continues about the same—very tight—which makes progress slow. The distance driven daring the week is not more than six foet. John Knox and party, t'ibuters, have obtained lOlbe of fair picked stone this weeu, which makes COlbs on hand and about half a ton of general quartz. The leader ie not looking quite so well at present, but Knox is in great heart, and believes he is on a run of golden ground. If he should provo correct it will be of great, value to the Company, as the reef is standing solid below them to the Royal Oak Level, a depth of 90 feet, and also above their works about 35 feet.
Royal Oak. — The manager reports during the past week tho tributerß, Mayne and party, have not broken out any of tho leador, thoy being employed cleaning out thoir mullock, and otherwise repairing tho works.
New Zealand Kapakga G.M. CoMrANy.— This Company have resumed operations under tho management oi Captain Ilodge, who represents the diroctors of the Company in New Zealand, the head office being in London. Most of the old machinery haa been jopurehased since Mr Hodge arrived in the colony, about cix wooke ago, and ie now being fitted up and repaired, co that no time is being lost, and every effort being mado to got at the ehaft work a epoodily as possible
