Some of tho Inhour.mgi natives, who are squatting at Whakarewarewo, whoro they
aro subsisting on ttovornment rations, grantod them bocauee of thoir socalled "lossos" by tho lato eruption, havo committed a Migrant breach of law. A Hock of elioep belonging to Mr Tanner, which were in ono of Mr Kolly's paddocks, have beon drivon off by theso pooplo, who evidently wish to enjoy a big food. Mr Tanner, jun , surprised tho raaraudors in tho act of skinning pome of the eheop in a pccludcd part of tho bush. Tho miscreants fled precipitately, leaving their proy, but it. is hoped that tho police will bo ablo to track them and bring them to juetico.
