♦ Furthor Discussion In tho House of Commons. London, August 24. Tub debate on the Addreasin-Reply was resumed in tho Houeo of Commons yesterday. Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, Sccrotary for Ireland, stated tho Government would do thoir utmoat to onsuro the prosperity of Ireland, at tho same time maintaining tho unien of that country with England. The Marquis of Hartiugton expressed his approval of tho policy of the Ciovernment in instituting an inquiry into the causes ot discontent in Ireland. His Lordship asserted that the country required rost, and in concluding his speech, promised to givo the measures introduced by the (Joverumont fair consideration. Mr Purnell, in his amendment on tho Addroßs-in-Keply. deorecatsd Stato-assisted land purchases on tho basis of judicial rents.
