Our Parliamentary correspondent telegraphs as follows :—ln the Houeo yesterday afternoon, Mr Locke asked the Premier if, seeing that part of Cook County is reported to have suffered equally with the Bay ol ITonty from the deposit of pumice fwm Tarawera, and as there ia no telegraphic or sea communication with the part that has suffered, tho Government will despatcn a steamer- to make inquiries, and to ascertain whether the Europeans or Ngaftpwu tribo stand in need of assistance. IM Premier said if tho natives of Cook Gounty were suffering from the results of the recent eruption, the Government would see what could be done for them.
