AUCKLAND CENSUS.
Population over 80,000.
The census returns for the provincial district of Auckland have not yet been made up. There are upwards of 100 census divisions in the district, and so far the returns of only some 40 divisions have been made- up. If the increases in the city are as great as in some of the divisional districts, tho returns from which have been made up, the total city and suburban population of Auckland will be between 50,000 and 60,000.
