MR GLADSTONE'S SON-IN-LAW.
One of Mr Gladstone's daughters is already a clergyman's wife, and another, has married ber brother's curate. In the "good old times " this would have meant a fat living in the present, and a golden canonry, at least, in the future ; but Mr Wickham has been Mr Gladstone's sou-in-law for many a day without deriving tbe slightest advantage in the way of preferment from thedistinguished connection. In fact, iv the matter of public loaves and fishes, it is clearly one thing to be Mr Gladstone's son-in-law, and quite another to be Lord Cranbrook's;-
