Wesleyan Camp Meeting.

A Wesleyan demonstration or camp meeting in connection with the city congregations was held yesterday at East Tamaki, The p.s. Britannia leaving the Queon-street Wharf at half-past nine a.m., took down some 450 people, while a large number travelled overland. Mr Buckland'efine farm, with its convenient grove of unbrageous trees, was the place of assembly, and shortly ufter tho arrival of the Britannia the religious service was commenced with tho singing of a hymn, the Pitt-street Btring band accompanying. Special hymns had been printed for the occasion, and copios were distributed. After the singing there was prayer, and then the President of the Conference (Rev. H. Bull) delivered tbo inaugural address, in which he laid stress upon the necessity of being in sympathy with Christ. The Rev. R. Bavin, who followed,selected as his text the words "It is finished," while the Rev. Mr Best spoko of Christ's claim? to and appreciation of tho heart devotion of his disciples. The Roy. Mr Slade onforced the lessons of the cross. After this there waa an hour's adjournment for material rofrishmenc. Then tho Roy. Mr Garland pointed out the value and importance of evangelistic effort for the reclamation of the lapsed, while the Roy. T. G. Carr showed that unity was ono of tho prime factors of success. The Rev. W. S. Bmalley (Conference evangelist), in tho course of an interesting address, stated tho conditions of ovangelistic success to bo united action, hard work, intense sympathy for the perishing, and mighty prayer. Tho service concluded with tho Doxology, and the steamer left at 4 o'clock on her return trip to town,
