AS a guarantee to Advertisers, who have a right to know what they are paying for, we have made a practice for some years past of submitting our books to public accountants of the highest reputation for tho purpose of making .an independent audit of the circulation. The audit for the last six montha of 1885, just completed, shows that tho circulation is still steadily increasing, and the nightly issue—the number actually published in the town and country, .after deducting returns—reaches the extraordinary total of 10,600 copies daily. We append the certificate of Messrs John Milne and J. Waymouth. Auckland, 6th January, ISBG. We. hereby certify that we have examined ihe Books and Vouchers of the Evening .Star Newspaper, with the following results : — Number of Copies issued to the public and actually circulated from July Ist, ISSS, to December 31st, ISSS, was 1,664,535 (ONE MILLION SIX IIUNDI4KD AND S-XTY-FOUK.
