Race Between the Waitangi and the Electra.
A kace for first class yachts, under the I auspices of the Prince Alfred Yacht Club, I was sailed in Sydney harbour on Saturday 1 afternoon, February 13th, between til \ Auckland built yacht Waitangi (owned by | Mr A. G. Milson) and the yawl Electra jj (owned by Mr J. F. Fitzhardinge). Thence was for a prize of £25, and the handicap gave tho Electra 5 minutes. PrecMv i live minutes after 2 p.m. the signal for tit start was given, and immediately afterwards the Waitangi crossed the line, followed two or three eoconds later by ftj l; F.lectro. The Waitangi continued to facrease the load she had gained at the start, shewing an actual gain in the run down (< 1 minute 25 eoconds. The race was finUud by the Waitangi at sh. 36m. 405,, andby1 i the Electra at sh. 50m, 555. The Waitangi therofore, won by 14m. 155., and on tit time allowance by Bm. 15s.
