Ptol. Black, accompanied by Mr Montpmery and two assistants, arrived in Auckland to-day. It is thoir intention to twain la this district for about five weeka, mag which time Professor Black will give wtaresatthe various mining centres. It ■■M» intention to give instruction of a tkoroughly practical kind, bo that miners *pd : prospectors would be competent ipfat at a glance to tell auriferous wugentiferous ore. The miners will be "lowed to perform experiment? at the Wtores, instead of that being done by the ftofwsor. The party leave tomorrow W Thames, and from that place % will proceed to Te Aroha, Ohinemuri, •M Coromandel. We have not heard wnther any of the Auckland University nofeseors will accompany them.
