INFIDELITY IN THE ANGLICAN CHURCH.

[BY TELF.nRAPH—OWN COKRE3POHDENT.J

Donedin, this day. Rev. Mn Powell's deliverance at the Anglican Congress on infidelity caused considerable commotion in clerical circles. It is understood that Bishop Neville occupies the pulpit at St. Matthew's on Sunday, and intends to have it out with the incumbent. One paper says :— " According to Mr Powell's own Bhowing, ho cannot longer remain in tho Church of England, nnd bear the reputation of being an honest man. In other denominations ministers resign voluntarily or by request when they change their views. If Mr Powell does not, the Church will suffer more by his retention of office than it possibly could from his romoval."
