THE MACGREGOR.
Tiir. Clansmnn, which left for Kawau last ovoning for tho purpose of towing tho Macgrogor into linrbour, roturncd hero at 11 a.m. to-day. It appears that tho repairs to tho Macgregors woro not, completed, and, instead of detaining tho Clansman, Captain McGregor sent her back to port and forwarded a telegram to Russell instructing Captain Stopboiißon to call with tho Wellington on liis way to Auckland, to-morrow morning, when it ia expoctod tho Macgregor will bo ready to aturfc. Tho Macgregor ia almost dry at low water where sho now lies on tho Kawau beach, and does not give any evidence of severe straining. Thoro is a largo holo almost undor her ongino-room, and this is very temporarily ropaired with timbdr, tarpaulins, etc., so that the vossol can bo kept dry insido by means of pumps. Tho Macgregor may bo oxpectod lioro to-morrow afternoon.
