Tiik following circular has been forwarded to'all tho members of Parliament within tlifa Auckland Provincial District, and to miny other gentlemen holding Liberal views on political opinions':—
!' Auckland Liberal Association, Juno G, 1885. Sir,—l havo tho pleasure of forwarding to you herewith a copy of rules of tho Auckland Liberal Association, with a statement of the public objects it hepes to assist in the promotion of. Tho Association during the last few months han been succepsful in obtaining the aid of the Hon. tho Premier, Sir George Grey, X.C.8., and Mr X,. D. Duffus in the dolivery of addresses on subjects of political and general importance. They havo also passed several resolutions, and sent them to the members of both Houses, on questions of public interests. Through their exertions petitions to' Parliament in favour of a land tax are boing Bigncd in Auckland and elsewhere, which will be presented during the enduing session. Meetings aro hold onco a fortnight, when all subjects of current political interest aio open for diccutsion. The .support hitherto received is encouraging, but with a larger numbor of members, affording preatcr financial resources, the ellicicncy of tho Association is capable of more extended influence, and exercising greater power. The Asfocialion is frequently in receipt of communications from similar societies in other parts of tho colony, and lias already actively af.sietod in the formation of branch associations in several part 3 of the Auckland electoral district.
