WORKING MEN'S FRIENDLY AID SOCIETY.
Tnii annual mooting of the Auckland Workjng Mon'.s Friendly Aid Socioly was hold in tho Parnoll Oddfellows' Hull last evening. Thcro was a good attendance, amongst thoso present being Mr Moss, M.H.R. Mr Emonry occupied tho chair.
Bai.anck-sukut.—Tho statement of accounts for tho your onding May SI showed : Kocoipts—Contributions, £14U 7s 5d ; initiation feos, £7 Ss ; medical pence, £28 13s ; proposition monoy forfoited, £ 1 7s Gd; total, £180 12s lid Expenditure, .0103 ; lodgo surgoon, .£'2l 10s ; secretary's salary, £10 ; sundries, £9 8a 3d ; total, £143 8s 3d. This with cash in bank on June 2, ISS4, interest and cash in Treasurer's hands, loft a crodit balanco of £350 12s lOd. Tho report showed : Number of mombers at tho beginning of year, 7S ; admiHod Binco, 33 ; loltby arroara, S ; total number at date, 103. Both balance-sheet and report wero adopted, Okkioebs.—Tho following wereolected :— Chairman, Mr limenry ; Secretary, Mr S., Burgess ; Treasurer, Mr Jns. Pee, sen. ; Directors, Messrs Powell, Nairn, Alderton, Burgess, and Gardner ; Financial Committoo, Mossrs Haytor, Mills, Nixon, Smith, Leo, and Bowo; Vigilance Committee, Mossis Alderton, Burgess, and Nairn. Auditors: Messrs J. 11. Mills and A. Smith.
'Anniversary. — The Secretary stated that the anniversary was celobrated on Miiy 25 by a soiree and dance, it had been stated that this was the fourth anniversary. It was correctly tho fourth colobration and tho thirteenth anniversary.—The Chairman said that the celebration had been of a very pleasant and successful character. Alter paying all expenses there remained a balance in hand of £1 17s (id. The Committee bad decidod to hand this, sum over to the regular fund of tho lodge for tho purchase of regalia for its officers. He moved to this efl'ect, and the proposition was agreed to. Salakiks, &U.-A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Nairn, doorkeeper, lor attm tion to his dutios during tho past twelve months. It was alto agreed to inako Mr PtO a present, of £5 from tho funds of iho Society in recognition of his services as Honorary Treasurer during tho past eleven years. The Secretary's salary wus raised from 2s to 2s Gd per member per annum.

In returning thanks lie suid that lie would bo happy indeed if lie could be of any use to tho Society. It did a great deal of good in away that no other society did. lie was dlad that it was in such a llourithing condition. (Applause.)
