Why Lumsden Returns to London.

Gladstone, in tho House of Commons this evening, was asked how it was that Lumaden was reoilled from the Afghan frontier by England, and Gen, Komaroff was retained thero by Russia, and if these facts would not indicate the confession of wrong on England's sido in the Afghan dispute ? Gladstono stated there was no relation botwoen tho cases of Sir Peter Lumsden and Gen. Komaroff. The latter waß not recalled bocaueo he was commander of the Russian forces, whilo Sir Peter Lumsden has boon employed in a purely civil capacity. " Lumsden," the Premier added, "had not boon rocalled, but had been consulted upon tho subject, and in conformity with his own views had been requested to return to England, as it had been decided to carry on in London future communications with Russia about the main points in the Afghan frontier line.
