Wullinoton*, this day.—Thoso militia officers who had'thoir commission cancelled are to bo placed on tho retired list, from which they may qualify for tho activo list, if dosirublo. Dead Body Found. Tho body of a man was discovered near tbo refrigerating works this morning. It is not yot identified, but is believed to be that of a foreman belonging to tho steamer Tiri.
Welu-Suto.*, this day,—At Lamb ton Licensing Committee tho hotols which previously had midnight licenses wore reduced to eleven o'clock. Throo applications wore adjourned for a fortnight to enable enquiries to bo made as to the suitability of tho buildings, Te Aro Licensing Committee have reduced all licenses to 11 o'clock. Two applications wero adjourned to enable alterations to be mado.
CniusTciiCßCii, this day. —At Christchurch South Licensing Meeting yesterday one license was refused and several adjourned. The local option voting at South Rakaia proved against an increase of licenses.
