Mr Bryce'B Statement.

Sir Julius Vogel denies tho statement made by Mr Bryce to the effect that the colony was pledged to borrow nine and ahalf millions laßt session. The only fresh amount not already authorised by Parliament,for which the colony is wholly responsible, was one and a half millions, and this Sir Julius Vogel claims was necessary to meet and discharge the liabilities inherited from the Government of which Mr Bryce was a member. The Minister of Ji.sttee. j Hon. Mr Tola has been absent from his office some days owing to the indisposition of himself and wife.
