THE ALASTOR.
The barque Alostor, which was reported as signalled In our last evening's issue, anchored all night at Rangitoto Reef, and came into harbour this morning. Her passago has been a lengthy one of 132 days. Captain Glazebrook reports that ho left Gravoeend on the 26th Jan. last, at 9 p.m., the pilot leaving the vessel in the Downs on tho same date. On the 27th, the Alastor was abreast of the Lizard, with the wind from the S.W., blowing strong. This most unfavourable weather continued for the following 18 days, and at times it was blowing with almost hurricane force. It was not until the 21st day that the Alastor got clear of soundings. On February 21 the island of Madeira was sighted, and not until tho 23rd was the vessel clear of it. From off Madeira took the NE. trades, and carried them to 3' N., when llsht variable winds intervened until the Eauator was crossed in 27' W. Moderate S.E. trades, whioh were picked up from almost off the Eauator, then prevailed. On March 21st the island of Trinidad was abeam, when moderate weather was experienced to the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope, which was passed in 12 S. Cape Leu win was abeam on the 9th inst, and the meridian of the South Cape of Tasmania was passed on the 19th inst. On the 27th inst. tho North Cape was rounded, and down the coast fresh W. and S.W. winds prevailed. Passengers: Mr and Mrs Johnston, Mr and Mrs Simpson, Mrs and Mies Johnsan, Messrs R. Hastle. A.
