"What is Sauce for the Goose is Sauce for the Gander."
(To tho Editor.)
Sir,—l noticed in a paper tho other day that the Auckland Harbour Board had kindly given the Mercantile Marino Association the use of a room to hold their meetings in. I thought if it was brought before their notice they might be disposed to extend the privilege to other trade unions at present existing in Auckland. lam sure that other unions besides the ono to which I belong would be glad of a place of meeting in such a contra! position as the Harbour Board Oilices are in, It is a publip building, jt is bu}lt with the public money, there is more apuce in it than can possibly be utilised by the Harbour Board for somo time to come and what better uee can it be put to than to let those whose money have helped to erect it have a share in the benefits to be derived thereby ? If the above Ideas are entertained, the different unions could so arrange their nights of meeting as not to clash with the meeting night of the favoured Mercantile Marine Association.—l am, &c Union.
The d«jjino of Rome was not a declino'to take a drink, but the fall indicated that it had had enough.
