AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB
W. F. Buoltland's Chloe Wins tho
President's Gold Cup.
As indicated in tho report which appeared in our last issue, tho weather at I'lumpton Park yoaterday afternoon was miserably cold and wot, and as a consequence tho coursing was carried on under very unfavourable conditions. Squall succoedod squall with each rapidity that from noon onward not a glimpse of sunshine could be oeen, and the only shelter to be had from the searching rain wna tho lee side of tho row of konnels or of the grand stand. Tho frail tent that did duty &8 a reporters' room was carried away while our reporter was engaged in despatching a message, while umbrellas proved but a sorry protection against cutting hail, drivon by a powerful wind. To add to all this discomfort, the ground was churned up into a mass of yielding mud, and few got away from the scene dry shod. However, the coursing went steadily on, and the bookmakers, in spite of wind and rain, stuck to their rostrum on the grand stand, and vociferated themselves hoarse in laying their odds as each fresh pair of dogs was uncoupled. The particulars of the entire second round of coursing, as conveyed from the Park by our feathered messengers, appeared in our ordinary edition last night; but as the later news, including the result, was circulated only in the form of " extras," we append it hereto :— THIRD ROUND.
