The organ for the Beresford-street Congregational Church is on board the Crusader, which left London on February 28, and may be oxpected here at the beginning of June. We understand it is a remarkably fine instrument, and is by the celebrated firm of Thos. Lewis and Co., Brixton, London

To the Editor: Sir,—Through your columns I might observe to the public that a great deal of worthy praise has been paid to our Volunteer corps, but cannot help stating, from personal knowledge, that there are scores of men, even in this city, who have served the New Zealand Government but decline to serve it again, yet are willing to enroll as a citizen brigade two or three hundred strong. This would embrace the feelings of those men who lately so freely supported Bennett's Soudan contingent, I therefore say, Bury any opposition feeling, and let two or three good worthy citizens take the matter up, and make use of such men, and thoreby for defensive purpose have one strong and willing corps to support our fivo or six small Volunteer corps. I submit one Volunteer is worth two pressed men, and we cannot depend upon tho Government,—! am, etc., W.J,
