WALKING MATCH.

The twelve hours' walking match between John Raynor, Australian champion, and David McCune, of Auckland, for £50 a-side and tho championship of Auckland, was proceeding in the Theatre Royal this afternoon. Mr Mettam was acting judge, Mr Jonghin as referee for McCune, and Mr R. Graham as referee for Raynor. The men were started at five minutes past eleven, the attendance at the time being small. The distance accomplished in the first hour was 6 miles and 7 laps, and Raynor was leading at the time by two laps. There were 33 laps to the mile. At 1 o'clock Raynor was leading by four laps, having accomplished 12 mfles, while his opponent had traversed 11 miles 29 laps.
