Postmaster's House Burned.

New Plymouth, this day.—Mr Holdsworth, Chief Postmaster here, had his private residence, at Westawn, burned to the ground last night about 11 o'clock. The family escaped with difficulty. Nothing was saved. The house was insured in the Standard for £40*>, and ths furniture for £200. The cauae of the fire is supposed to bo a log of lighted wood tumbling fioni tho fire-place.
