ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

The annual meeting of tho above body was held on Wednesday, March It. The annual report stated that the total income, excluding bank balanoes and refunds, had been £193 2s 9d as against £562 Is for the previous yoar. Youngtrout wore frcquenty aeon in the Waitakerel river and Henderson's stream, while tho brook trout in the As.lum stream were in a healthy condition. Several of the trout in the Domain fish ponds had attained a weight of over five pounds, and it was hoped a supply of ova would be obtmncd from them during the approaching season. The Socioty had not been so surcessiul with brook trout, tho first shipment of 30,000 ova being all dead on arrival from San Francisco. Iho American cat-fish were increasing fast, in St. John a Lake, and already were exceedingly numerous.

A statement of accounts was also submitted, and thia, along with the report, was duly adooted. Mr Baretow was elected President for the ensuing year, and MrB.E, Hughes, sec, was elected Vice-President. The Commitiee wore re-elected, and Messrs J. Waymouth and T. L. white were re-elected auditors.
