The sales of fodder on Tuesdays have considerabljincreased, and prices are similar to thoso ruling on Fridays. At tho wool and hido salo on Tuesday, 29 bales of wool, mostly merino, or with a merino cro?s, brought from Sd to near 9d tbo lb; longwool and crosa-brod, from 4{d to Cd; pelts and Bkins, from Is to Is lOd each; tallow, 22s 9d to 2Gs (id the cwt.; hidep, id to 4}d tho lb ; inferior, from 2d and upwarap. At the special sale held at Mr Kichardson's, oi the Wairoa, on Saturday last, there was a numerous attondanco, and satisfactory prices ; and at the regular monthly sale at Papakura on Wednesday a larger muster of grown steers than usual sold at current values. At Remuera on Thursday last, dairy and store cattle were at lato values. Fat oattle advanced In price about 10s eacb, particularly for well-bred four-yoar steers, smaller steers were not so freely competed for. Prices ranged from 18s to 22s per 1001b. Toe Durham yards were woll filled on Friday; competition was steady throughout the sac, although in many eases reserves could not be reached, and vendors woro obliged to submit to lower rates. There was an exception as to young strong active horses, which advanced in value fully £*_ per head. Cattle: The snpply of fat beasts has beon smaller than for some weeks, but dairy and storo . tock have been in unusual numbers. For good cows at their profit an advanced price was given, and fat realised a shade higher values. Tho dairy pens at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday were well filled. Btores were in adequato numbers, but thoro wore rot so many fat beasts yarded as usual. Prises for dairy cows had an upward tendency, and ranged from £G 10s to £10 fls ; fat and store steok at the previous week's values. Sheep: There was a good muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, but the -previous week's prices woro freely givon. Wethers ranged from 13b to IBs Cd 1 owes, lis to 14s 3d each. Lambs: Since selling at from 7s to 10s each. Pigs: Very few jrs_ led, but of good qua'ity, and realised Id per lb live weight. Thoro has been no marked change in the bank stock and mining market during the past week. A rise is expected in Queen of Beauty. and Cambria crushing is shaping for about 'ii, ounces per ton.
