MISS GENEVIEVE WARD.
Tins talented actress and the able company by which she is supported closed a successful season of three weeks in Wellington last night, and after a short stay at Napier will como on to Auokland, opening on Monday, 2nd February. Miss Ward's histrionic reputation stands very high, and tho laurels" which she has won in England, America, and Australia aro still pro erved fresh by her wonderful powers. Tho "Thoatre," a London publication, says of her appearance in tho metropolis :—" The success of Miss Ward is bayond question ; and it is a most exceptional character. . . . Miss Ward's por-
formanco is brillhnt with intellectual character, beautitul. with refinement, nervous and sjecl-like with indomitable purpose and icy glitter, fearfully intense with passion, painfully true to an alllicting ideal of reality, and at last splendidly tragic. And it is a shining example of ductile and various art." This Miss Ward is supported by Mr W. H.
