Dear Sib,—Enclosed please find •supplementary and final list of moneys kindly given by friends towards the support of. the orphans of the lato James Johnstone, and both Mr Oswald and myself desire to thank all who have ao liberally come forward, in time 'of meed. We: would, at -the same time, thank you for the use of your columns. Enclosed is a letter we have received from a former employer of Mr James Johustone, which Mr» Oswald and my self would feel grateful if -you would publish, as it is a reply to many questions asked by various people as to the antecedents of Johnstone.—l am, &c, ► i i. He went to India as a soldier during the mutiny. After the peace' he came home, and .as he was unemployed. he got a vacancy with me. He.lived here some years, and gave us satisfaction. He left here of his own will and aeainat our wish. I Bent the paper, and I wrote to his father. Mr Samnel Johntt^ne, of Emyvale Co., Monaghan. He is a practical miller, and rents a mill at Emyvale, which he works for hire on the farmers' grain, and does not require much capital, and if James has left any money behind him, the father would reqaire it, as he haß reared a large family respectably upon a Bmall salary.—lam, with respect, yours obediently.
