AUSTRALASIAN WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

CiiRiSTCHURCii, this day. An invitation was received from Hobart to hold the next General Conferenco in that town, also one from Melbourne. It was yesterday resolved that tho invitation from Melbournebeaccepted. TheSupernuinerary Fund was reported to have been the subject of actual investigation, and its basis declared to bo satisfactory. Rev. Mr Symons was re-appointed Clerical Treasurer. An animated debated debate took place on the motion of Mr Nock, of Adelaide, that action bo taken in the several colonies in favour of Bible-reading in State schools. Messrs Symons, Stephenson, Kolynack, Brown, and othors took part' in tho debate. Finally, on the motion of Rev. H. Bull, it was resolved, " That while the Conference is deeply convinced of the importance of Bible-reading in schools, it is of opinion that the subject should be remitted to each annual Conferenco, to take such action as may be deemed expedient." The triennial review of the Connectional Funds is now proceeding. Rev. 11. Bavin and'Mr J. L. Wilson aro appointed Treasurers.
