His system is greatly appreciated. He appears at Ohaupo to day. Cambridge Railway Rates. . Tho Railway Department has issued special rates for the Cambridge Branch. This is evidently nn outcome of the expressed indignation of the business public, as under old rates it cost d4R|e as much to carry goods to Cambridge as *ff Hamilton. The Ministerial oN>ut. The member for Waipa (Mr Lake) has brought with him from Wellington a touch of the Ministerial gout, nnd contemplates a sojourn at Rotorua. L.~'i Wkiunotok, this day.—An unoccupied six-roomed house at Wndestown owned by Mrs Woodward was burned down yesterday morning. It was insured in the Liverpool, London and Globo, for £250. Tho fire originated through tho gorse firo spreading. CiiuiSTCHUR.cn, this day. At the Mayoral olection yesterday Mr C. P. Hulbert was elected without opposition.
