Wk publish in anothor part of to-day's issue a long paper by Mr Kenton, late Chief Judge of tho Native Lands Court, giving a historical narrative of the course of legislation in relation to nativo lands. No man is moreablo to deal with this subject than tho writer, and in view of tho contemplated changes in the native lands system his pro posals will command attention. Thosubjeet is too large a one, and raises too many important issues affecting tlio wolf are of the North Island, to x be discussed in tho space at our disposal just now, and wo shall take an early opportunity of returning lo it.
