GRAFTON CHESS CLUB.
A well-attended meeting of residents of the Grafton Road District and members of the Grafton Chess Club was held last evening, in the St. Sepulchre's School-house, Symonds-street—H. H. Lusk, Esq., in the chair. The Chairman briefly introduced tho business, and madeseveral suggestions likely to be of advantago to the members. Mr Alfred Ashton consented to Continue in hia position as Honorary Secretary to the Club, and on the motion of Mr Ralph Keesing, seconded by Mr Arthur Heather, Messrs Hammond, Sloman, and the Chairman were appointed a committee to assist the Secretary in carrying out the wishes of members. The Chairman informed the meeting that St. Sepulchre's lower room had been secured for the meetings of the club, with the use of the upper room if in future it would be required and preferred. It was determined to hold meetings for play on Thursdays at the usual hour ; entrance fee and subscriptions to be fixed by the Committee. About sixteen gentlemen consented to join the Club, and gave in their names for that purpose.
