The schooner Queen arrived from Hokianga this morning with J" totara piles, and 0 tons gum.
The barque Jules Marie, for Melbourne |v!a Kaipara proceeded as far as the North Head yesterday afternoon, and anchored Ito await a favourable breeze to enable her to continue tho voyage.
The three-masted schooner E».;rgy left Greymouth on 2Uth February, and arrived here this morning.
The schooner Torca entered outwards at the Customs to-day for Guam. She |?oes from here in charge of Captain Robinson, and 13 expected to proceed to Elisabeth Reef for the purpsse of recovering the cargo from thl) wreck ot the schooner Alma, wmeh is said to still remain there.
The s.s. Waitnki arrived from Waitaki yesterday with the following passengers:— Mesdames Munro, Shcphard, Knagga. Annan and children, James, Miss Bunting, Messrs James, J. H. Dalton; Fraser, G. IT. Wilson, Johnson, Robert Bartley. E. J. White, Knaggs, Gibson, Still, Crispe, and four in the steerage.
Tho s.s. Wellington arrived from Russell at 11.15 p.m. yosterday. Passengers :—Mrs Allen, Miss Cantlin, Mrs Warner, Mrs Bigg, Mrs Phillip, Misa Impey, Miss Wriggs, Miss Dancrln, Messrs Cant, Stephenson, S. Jogger, Longdill, Dangin. T. R. Jamieson, Macintosh, R. P. Hodge, Williams, and 5 steerage.
The Penguin arrived from Oamaru at 9.30 this morninft. She loft Oamaru at 8.30 p.m. on the Ist, calling at all ports. Experienced fresh N.E.N. Minds and heavy swell till off Kaikouras; fresh N.W, gale and high sea to arrival at Wellington; fresh easterly wind and sea to Tauranga. After leaving latter port, encountered strong N.E. galo and heavy beam sea, causing ship to labour heuvily till off Mercury Island; thence light N.E. wind, accompanied by heavy rain showers till arrival. Passengers :-Saloon: Messrs Pierson, Do Veaux, Mitchell, J. Downey, Davis, Kllis, Moss, Gillibrand. Steerage: Messrs Thomas, Lowo, Donsott, Erakine, Hill, Lament, Jackson and family (2), .7. Macarcth. For Lovuka—Saloon: Mrs Luck and family (2). Steerage: Mr Yorke. We arc inkobtod to Mr John Waldio (purser) for press parcels, reports,, etc.
