Caiko, February 23. A DETACHMENT of 1,000 British iroops have occupied a fort near Trinkitat. Tho enemy, who wero in tho neighbourhood, fled. It is expected a battlo will bo fought on Thursday^ El Teb, whore tho rebels are strongly posted. A Preiw Association message says : — Two moro garrisons in tho Southern Soudan have been captured by the rebels. Two regiments of Egyptian troops have been ordered to proceed to Assouan. The fidelity of the native garrison in Cairo is distrusted.
