Thames, this day. London.—Since last report, about lOlbs of picked stone have been secured from No. 1 reef at the intermediate level. Mariner.—The manager is cleaning out the cross-cut towards No. 4 reef at No. 3 level with the intention of prospecting a large block hitherto unknown. Q.oeen- of Bkauty.—The leader at No. 10 level is separated into three veins, each 3in. wide, but the favourable indications for gold remain unchanged. New Prince Imperial.—The air in the low level has so far improved that ■ operations can be resumed. In the eastern stopeg No. 2 lode and winze, however, are still inaccessible. Caledonian.—The eastern drive at No. 2 level will communicate with the winze within a day or two. The reef is eighteen inches thick, and still shows gold freely. The crushing shows a slight improvement. Caledonian Low Level Company's rock drill was started to-day, and answers its purpose admirably, breaking out stuff faster than it can be trucked away, and necessitating the employment of a second shift for the salvage of dirt. New Mamjkau.—No, 2 reef was broken in the stopo above the 109 feet level to-day, but only o,bout 41hs of picked stone were secured; The reof shows littlo change, excepting that the bands of quartz are less frequent in the mullocky formation.
