The temperance party nominated five candidates, and fire favourable to liquor traffic wero also nominated. Tho following was tho result of the voting:—Edward Browne, 01; Powell, 48; Thomas Gubb, 47 ; Rushbrok, 40; Geo. Hartnell, 45; Ashton, 5; Hogan, 0 ; Redmond, 5; Somomlle, 4; A. Smith, 2. Five strongly pronounced tomporanco candidates aro thus olected. Tho only liconsed house, tho Mangawai Hotel, will bo closed. The result of tho Auckland tomperanco vote gives pleasure to Albertlandors.
