RECHABITISM.

The 19th annual meeting of the New Zealand District, No, 84, 1.0. R., S.U., was held at Aratapu on Saturday, February 16th, and from the reports of the Tents' Secretaries, the past yoar proves to have been one ol the most successful the Order has enjoyed for some time. The following officers and representatives were present :— Officers: D.0.R., J. B. Well; D.D.R., Cyrus J. Brown; D. Sec, E. Honissj D. Treas., John Nodder; D. Guard, J. Sheffield; P.D.C.R., W. J. Speight. Representatives: No. 1 Tent, Bain, Waring, and J. Q. Carr ; No. 2 Tent, not represented. No. 3 Tent, Cyrus J. Brown ; No. 4 Tent, Thomas Webb and G. H. Ludlow; Na. 5 Tent, Geo. Lowrie ; J. W. Tent, Thames, J. Nodder; Auckland, J, W, Foster; AVairoa, J. Stallworthy, Thß meeting opened at 9.45 a.m., and continued untilC p.m., a large amount of business being disposed of during that time. Owing to the valuation of the district not being completed, action was deferred ro tha alteration of scale of charges, &c. The following brethren were elected for offioe : — D.C.R., Cyrus J. Brown ; D.D.R., Thos. Webb ; D. Sec, J. G. Carr; D. Treasurer, J. Nodder ; P. 0., George Lowrie; P.D.C.R., J. B. Mell; auditors, Rotherham and Lee. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the outgoing officers, and a special vote, accompanied by the presentation of a past officer's certificate, was accorded to Bro. E. Honiss, on the occasion of.his retirement from the office as District Secretary. During the yoar one adult tent has been opened at Maungawhare, and from the report presented is likely to prove a vigorous and healthy one. Votes of thanks to the Aratapu brethren for_ the entertainment provided for the visitors, _ and from tho Northern Star Tent to the district for holding its annual council at Aratapu, brought ono of the pleasantest of meetings to a close. District Funds : Funeral Fund, ±1,791 12s sd; total [membership, 391 ; increase for year, 73; total funds of Tentsand District, £3,832 12s sd; average per member, £9 16a. During tho year there* «ad been two deaths. The total paid ftmsickness has been £273175.
