(Received, February 25, 1 p.m.) Tho Orient Malls. Adelaide, this day.—Arrived, on Saturday : Orient steamship John Elder, with mails, via Suez and Brindisi, which left London on January 18. The Steamboat Collision—The Wairarapa Blamed. Melbourne, this day. — The " Argus to-day publishes a telegram confirming the news of the collision between the steamers Wairarapa and Adelaide. They state that tho Wairarapa threw the gauntlet to the Adelaide to race. The damage sustained by tho latter vessel is very slight. Obituary. Mr Bolan, late Inspector-General of Schools, died suddenly yesterday. Floods in Queensland. Brisbane, this day.—Heavy rains, followed by disastrous floods, have been experienced at Townsville. Four Chinamen havo been drowned, and two other persons' aro missing.
