Temporary Insanity.—Priscilla Hollis, a gaily-attired young poison, was remanded until the 28th inst., being unable to plead. Patrick Lang was fined 5s for drunkenness; Andrew Seyer, 10s, offensive language.

Obscene Language.-Thomas Aitken and Mary Kenny wero fined 10s each with costs.

INTRACTABLE.-Elizabeth Williams, alias King, was charged with being an habitual drunkard, <s_c., within the meaning of the Act.—Sergeant White said the prisoner was a complote nuisance in the Karangahape Koad.—Phreo months' imprison mont.— John V ulo, for a like offence, was committed for three months.

His presence was also necessary forothor reasons.—Remanded until tomorrow.

Cruelty to Animals.—Thomas Campboll was charged with cruelly ill-treating two horses on the Ist hist, by beating and kicking them-Mr Brassoy appeared to prosecute on behalf of the Society for Preventing Cruelty to Animals.—Defendant pleaded guilty to using extreme measures. Iho horses were well-fed and well looked otter, but they would not work.—Francis Dart lotiton deposed to seeing defendant ijl-usmg tho horses on the Grammar School allotment, opposite tho Choral Hall He was removing a load of stones with two horses and a dray.
