OPERA HOUSE.-"La Mascotte."
The popularity of "Mascotto" shows no sign of being on tho wano. Last night's performance was witnessed by a crowded audience, and the applause was as genuine as tho pleasure of the audience was decided. Several numbers were encored, and at the close of tho second act Misses Stewart and Ltddiard and Messrs Woodfield, Vernon, Wallace, and Kelly were called before tho curtain to receive an ovation at tho hands of their patrons. The puns with which the libretto is thickly interlarded were highly appreciated, the funny isms and fatix pas of action prevoked roars of laughter, and the pretty music was vory much enjoyed. For spectacular and musical effects, as well as for the capital fun-evolved from the dialogue, the opera is hard to be beaten.' The performance will be repeated to-night.
