Tlie memorial tombstone, in memory of the lato Major Withers, has been completed, and placed over the grave in the Church of England Cemetery. The stone has the following inscription : —" To the memory of Major E. Wither?, late of H.M.S. Goth Regiment, who died May 20th, ISB3, an-ed i G years; having served 40 years in the Imperial and 20 years in the Colonial Service. Erected as a, mark o£ esteem to their late commanding officer by his comrades of the Auckland Yolunteor District."
