Larceny.—Wm. Crossloy pleaded not guilty to stealing v pair of boots, value 7s, the properly of Messrs Leydon, auctioneers,—The charge was cloarlr proved by H. Christopher, W. Jack, and Detective Hughes.—Two months' imprisonment
Ste alinp Poss.—Mrs 8011, a person of respectable appearance, was charged with stealing roses from tho graves in the Presbyterian cemc. tery, value 7s.—Tho charge was proved, and defendant fined 10s and costs.
Parental Neglect.-Alexander McMillan, a licensed porter, was ordured to pay 15s per week in support of hja wife and family. Ax Apprentice.—Wm. D. O. Corbott was charged with, absenting himself from tho servico o£ Moasts Miller, bootmakors, of Highstroct, boforo tho term of apprenticeship had expired.—Mr Napiorappoared for complainants, Mr Brassoy in defence. Bald ho should bring evidence to show that tho boy was physically unfit for the business of a shoemaker, and he would ask His Worship, after hoaring medical testimony, to cancel Iho indentures. Dr. Walter Leo and Dr. Kcnderdinc gave tho results of their examinations. The boy was gqncrally weak, and of a very delicate constitution. Ho might do light work, but was not, in tho opinion of those mediealmen, adapted for any scdontnry occupation.-rHls Worship said he could not make an p,rflov under prcsont circumstances, and dismissed the case.
