(Receivod November 24—1.10 p.m.) Now Caledonian Escapees. Sydney, Saturday. News has been receivod that six Frenchmen have landed at Ballina, on the coast of thiscolony. They are believed to be escapees from New Caledonia.
Melbourne, Saturday. The Hon. James Francis, who has been in bad health for some time past, has suffered a relapse. His condition is again very critical. The Agent-Goneral for Victoria in London has telegraphed to the Government that the French Cabinet has decided to proceed with tho transportation of Criminals Bill, notwithstanding it* recent rejection by several of its principal clauses,
