FIJI NEWS.
Tim Penguin arrived from Fiji this afteritoon. Tho schooner Energy, at Levuka, reports having been in the islands as far as Banks Group. On arriving at Api, ono of the stations which belongs to tho owners of the schooner, it was found that the trndor at the station, named Edward McEwan, had been shot tho day before. The coast tribe say that tho bushmon first killed their chief and, afterwards, McEwan. In going North towards Bank Group, touched at Aoba, when she heard that another of tho vessel's traders—a Frenchman, named Matthieu Ferri—had been tomahawked in a small cutter belonging to tho company for which Energy trades. He was killed while buying nuts. A Mallicolo boy, and one Lifou boy swam ashore, and eventually saved the cutter, although she had been completely looted.
Tho brigantine Waitemata -has arrived from Knipura with a cargo of timber for Messrs Wilson and Murchie.
By news from Rewa, we hear that a fitter named Archibald Wilson, in tho employ of tho Colonial Sugar Company has been brutally murdered by some person or persons unknown. Captain A. J. Knstel, a gentleman of Samoa, bought a vessel named the Vavou After tho vessel had been ropaired Captain Kustol told his friends on shore that he was going out in tho Vavau in order to test her sailing capacities, and said that he would return in two days. But nothing lias sinco been hoard of the vessel, although somo months havo elapsed . sinco the vessel left Samoa fpr her two days cruise. There is very little room for doubt as to tho fate of the vessel, and all on board. >. ■
